The Chamber Chatter

There is a free “Ski & Tube Night” at Black Mountain Ski Resort from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 14. This event is sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank. Ski and board rentals are available for $15 but there is a limited number available so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

I would like to remind you that the annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on March 30 this year. Once again this event is hosted by the River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Mexico Fire Department. It takes place throughout the towns of Byron, Canton, Carthage, Dixfield, Hanover, Mexico, Peru, Roxbury and Rumford. As usual children ages 7-12 may participate. Children

younger than that will have their own Easter Egg Hunt at the Mexico Fire Station starting at 9:00am. Clues for the hidden eggs will be read through local radio station WOXO (100.7FM) stating at 6 a.m. and concluding at 9 a.m.

Once an egg is found you will have until noon to bring it to the Mexico Fire Station and receive your Easter basket. I remember from my childhood many years ago this very wonderful event taking place. My problem is I could never get up early enough to “catch the worm”. One egg per child allowed.

The eggs are sponsored by the local merchants and individuals. If you would like to put a smile on a child’s face and sponsor an egg for $10, contact me here at the Chamber Office.
