The Chamber Chatter

Lots of happenings at 49 Franklin in the month of February “Bamboozler Night” (bar tricks, stunts and bets no cover) on Friday. “Those Crazy 80’s” (no cover) on the Saturday and “Goofing Around With Scot Grassette” (magic, juggling and stunts $6 admission) on the Sunday.

The following weekend features the “90’s Club MTV Dance Party” (again no cover charge) on Saturday, Feb. 23 and the “Special Occasion Expo” on Sunday, Feb. 24 (businesses specializing in weddings, parties, etc. with free admission). The 16th and the 23rd are “Dance Party Nights” and they start at 8:00pm (21+).

On Wednesday, February 27, the Hope Association is presenting Aimee Cecile-DesRoches from the Maine Autism Society starting at 3 p.m. There will be a Meet and Greet first starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Hope Association location on 85 Lincoln Ave. in Rumford. With the state continuing to cut services for many this presentation will help plan for the future for young adults 14-21 so that the services for them will not “fall through the cracks”. (Maine Autism Society is www.asmonline.org). FMI call 364-4561 or www.hopeassociation.org.

Add another day on to the end school year thanks to this “historic” storm (not my words but meteorologist quotes). I believe that brings the last day of school in RSU#10 to June 13. (originally June 6). What are the chances that we won’t get hit again? I just hope that my kids in Boston and South Portland get through this one unscathed! As they (the weather persons) are calling for the brunt of the storm to hit there.
