The River Valley Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet was a great success! The food once again provided by 49 Franklin was excellent.
The recipients of this year’s awards were gracious, appreciative and some were quite emotional. Thanks to Scot from 49 Franklin for stepping in as our photographer to catch all the great moments. Thanks from all of us at RVCC to the many businesses and guests that were able to attend to make it a wonderful evening.
The Peak-A-Week Hikes have begun. Anyone wishing to join these hikes is welcome. They are open to the public at any skill level. Hikers gather at the Rumford Information Center on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. to carpool. May 1, the group is hiking Bear Mtn. in Turner and on May 8 Buck’s/Lapham Ledges in Woodstock. A great way to see the state.
We had to scrape our windshields this week (luckily I hadn’t packed my scraper away) and it’s almost May! I think we are all ready for the weather to warm up somewhat and it seems from the weather report, as of this writing, that it is going to!
I would like to thank Mike and the Parks Commission crew for their assistance at the Information Center. From hauling heavy boxes of excess maps to the basement for the volunteers to keeping the grounds and the building in tip-top shape they do great work. Thanks guys!
