The Chamber Chatter
The Christmas in the Valley Craft fair will take place on December 1 at the Mountain Valley high School Gym and cafeteria. Some of the new crafters have already sent samples and pictures to be juried by the CITV Committee. The hours of the fair are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will once again feature the famous, “Cookie Walk” (get there early for your favorites), many raffles, the Chinese auction, the Kid’s Corner and much more. That means the CITV Parade will be Friday, November 30 (usually a 5 p.m. lineup and 6 p.m. start). If you would like more information and/or would like to be part of these events please contact me at the Chamber office.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, The Friends Of Peru Elementary School will open a Shared Commercial Kitchen at the old Peru School. They have invited food producers seeking a local food processing facility to attend a presentation by Marshall Piper, Consumer Protection Inspector for the Maine department of Agriculture. He will provide information on how these kitchens operate, how to obtain licensing, etc. Potential producers will be able to tour the kitchen and ask questions of Mr. Piper and FPES. For more information, call 562-7287.
If you are a member of the River Valley Chamber of Commerce I would like to offer you a free benefit provided by your chamber. If you send me a profile of your business I can have it featured (future months) in the Sun Journal “News Brief” that is inserted in the Sun Journal once a month. This I a great way to inform the people in the River Valley area what your business is all about and a great way to get exposure. If you would like to call or email me I can share with you the needed submission size and examples of the type of information that other businesses have shared in the past.
If you would like me to come to your place of business (member or not) and discuss the benefits of being or becoming a chamber member, contact me at 364-3241 or email info@rivervalleychamber.com.
