The Chamber Chatter
The Rumford Information Center remains busy with bus tours and visitors from all over the world stopping by to gain some of the vast knowledge that our volunteers possess concerning this and other areas of Maine and New England. I have listened as quite a few locals came in and were amazed by the facilities that we have here and state that they have lived here their whole lives and never realized what the center and the Eugene Boivin Park had to offer!
The Hope Association (located in the former Armory building) Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, October 15th. It will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature herbs, jewelry, children’s games, books raffles hand knit items and baked goods. You will want to get there early as there will be a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. plus lunches and snacks. There is no admission charge. Don’t forget to stop by and purchase a raffle ticket at the River Valley Chamber of Commerce table. We are selling raffle tickets for a wagon loaded with goodies (will be raffled at the Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair on December 3) that will be on display at the Oktoberfest.
If you own a business and would like to discuss the many benefits of being a member of the River Valley Chamber of Commerce please call or email me. Do the same if you would like a ribbon cutting ceremony (even if your business is not newly established).
If you would like more information on any of the Chamber’s events, call the office at 364-3241 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
