The Chamber Chatter
“The Best Christmas Ever” at 49 Franklin will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday. It is a hilarious and heartwarming holiday classic based on Barbara Robinson’s popular series and performed by the Paper Moon Players.
The Paper Moon Players are a group made up of local talent. It is based on the Herdsmans who are “the worst kids in history,” none of who ever heard the Christmas story before! What ensues will be pure entertainment. Tickets are available at All That Jazz and Bartash’s for $7. For more information call 369-0129 or go to www.49franklin.com/.
Also at 49 Franklin on December 21, there will be a benefit dance to help raise funds for Kayla Provencher to help her go to the World Karate Championships in Cancun, Mexico and represent Team USA. 49 Franklin’s DJ will provide kick butt (what we used to call rocking) tunes. Donation is $5 for the dance. Pub menu and drinks are available for purchase. There will be raffles and a donation jar as well! Come support Kayla, our local, state and national karate champ!
Just a quick reminder of the Black Mountain Ski Resort’s Business After Hours event on Thursday (5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) sponsored by The River Valley Chamber of Commerce. There will be light refreshments served.
The Christmas in The Valley Craft Fair was once again a great success. The proceeds from the fair go to scholarships for Mountain Valley and Dirigo high school students. Congratulations to all the winners of the raffles and Chinese auction items. We had some fabulous vendors for the event and they seemed quite pleased with the turnout. Thanks Diane (and crew of Relay For Life) for the
turkey pie lunch it was excellent once again and to Becky Skibitsky and helpers for the “kid’s corner.” Thanks to all the volunteers who worked to make the fair a great event.
