The Black Mountain Ski Resort Hill climbed originally scheduled for December 21 has been rescheduled to Friday, January 11.

Registration starts at 4 p.m. with the climb starting at 6. It is always a fun event and will give you a great opportunity to see the new and improved facilities at Black Mountain Ski Resort.
We are in the middle of our membership drive for the River Valley Chamber of Commerce. If you are not a member but you are curious about what the chamber can do for you, call the office at 364-3241 or email info@rivervalleychamber.com and I would enjoy chance to meet with you and review the many opportunities afforded you as a member of the chamber. The River Valley Rotary is sponsoring a Texas Hold’em Tourney on Saturday, January 12 at the Hope Association on 85 Lincoln Ave. in Rumford. The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the tourney will start at 10 a.m. There is $50 buy in and a guaranteed 75 percent payout. The 25 percent house share will be donated to Rotary International (efforts to eradicate polio worldwide) & Envision Rumford.

When you read this article we will start having longer daylight time, which is a good thing. The way this season has started it looks like it will be a boon for snow-machining and skiing.
