The Chamber Chatter
49 Franklin is gearing up for the New Year with many activities featured in February. On Feb. 4 will be the return of the ever popular Tipanic Steel Band. Feb. 24-16 will be a weekend of comedy, magic and clowning (more info to follow). On March 2, there will be the debut of, “Friday Night Live” in the Mystic Theater. Sounds like Cindy and Scot are ready to provide tons of fun and entertainment at 49 Franklin.
I am working on the River Valley Visitor’s Four Seasons Guide for the 2012-2013 season. If you haven’t seen one stop at the Rumford Information Center to grab the 2011-2012 version or stop by one of the RVCC member businesses that feature them. It is an informative and professional document (Tom at The Maine Press) and allows our member businesses to advertise as well as feature a list of the businesses and information about all ten member towns.
Many of the visitors to the Rumford Information Center do learn how Rumford received its name and many ask how Mexico received it’s. As a native Mexican (Maine) I have learned that it was in sympathy for the Mexicans and their struggle to be free from Spanish domination. Makes sense to me!
