The Chamber Chatter
The arrival of the River Valley Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner Thursday Night brings the announcement of the very deserving award winners for 2012. Rumford Hospital was picked as the Customer Service Award winner with a heartfelt nomination from Greg Arsenault. The Fitch Company was voted in as the well deserving Business of the Year. Roxbury Riders ATV Club came away with the Non-Profit/Community Service Leadership Award due to the vast list of charities that it raises funds for on a yearly basis. Ron Russell is the Volunteer of the Year and although he stated that there are others more deserving I can personally attest to all he has done for the success of the Rumford Information Center even when not feeling his best!
Glen Holmes, Director of the Western Maine Economic Development Council and our guest speaker at the Annual Dinner stopped by my office and we had a discussion about the goings on in the River Valley. He feels as though the area Chambers and its members are great resources that can help him with the economic growth plans for the area. I look forward to his “words of wisdom” on Thursday evening.
