The Chamber Chatter
Come and ride with the Roxbury ATV Riders on June 16th. It should surely be interesting as they will follow the Wind Tower trail. The group will meet at the home of Mike Worthley at 1162 Roxbury Notch Rd. at 9 a.m. The club is asking for a $5 donation per person to take part in this Wind Tower Ride and the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Make your plans to attend the River Valley Fourth of July Celebration at the Hosmer Field Complex. There are going to be some exciting things happening.
Once again, there will be games for children, lots of music, a magic show (Scot Grassette), many vendors, culminating in a tribute to those that have served our country. Then another fabulous fireworks display presented by Atlas Pyro Vision Productions, Inc.
This year’s Lucky Duck Race will take place here behind the Rumford Information Center sometime during Fourth of July. This is a River Valley Chamber of Commerce annual event that took place last year in the Swift River and thanks to Mike and Janet Brennick it did happen despite the fact that it was not a really ideal location. The little quackers are coming back home to swim down Bean Brook. The first duck to cross the finish line is worth $500 to the lucky owner of that number. Second place wins $250 and third $150. If you would like to purchase any of our Lucky Ducks ($5 each) they are on sale at the Rumford Information Center and are available from some of our local businesses.
If you would like more information on any of the Chamber’s events, call the office at 364-3241 or email info@rivervalleychamber.com.
