The Chamber Chatter
Hope Association is having a fundraising Car Wash on Wednesday, July 18 at 85 Lincoln Ave., Rumford from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is only $4 and all the profits benefit the participants with intellectual disabilities. Don’t forget you can shop at the What Not Shop while you wait for your vehicle to be washed.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the Rumford Information Center, call or email me anytime. If you ask any of the current or former volunteers they will tell you that it is fun and rewarding and you meet some interesting visitors. The volunteers are great at giving information about the happenings and businesses of the River Valley area. You can arrange your schedule to meet your personal needs and help promote your community.
As the administrator for the chamber, I will be in the community more especially on Wednesdays. If you would like to discuss the benefits of becoming a member or utilizing your current membership I would enjoy the chance to meet with you and I can meet with you on any day of the week.
The Fourth of July celebration is rounding into another great day! With the addition of the temporary zip lines and the extra vendors we have lined up it should be fun! The fireworks display presented by Atlas Pyrovsion productions Inc. will be a great way to top off the night.
At the Rumford Information Center, along with the Bean Hole Bean Supper being offered to benefit Maine Harvest for Hunger, we are having our Lucky Duck Race at 6 p.m. Tickets will be on sale in the center parking lot starting at 11a.m. until 4 p.m. You have a chance to win $500 (1st place) $250 (2nd place) and $150 (3rd place) once the ducks swim between Daffy’s legs!
If you would like more information on any of the chamber’s events, call the office at 364-3241 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
