The Chamber Chatter
It is hard to believe that the Fourth of July is here! The River Valley Fourth of July Celebration Committee has stepped up and planned a great day of fun and festivities for the community and its visitors.
On Thursday, the gates at the Hosmer Field Complex will open at 3 p.m. The vendors, (food, novelty items, organizations, etc.) will be set up around Chet Bulger Field and will be ready. At 3 p.m., there will be music provided by Jamie Virgin and Gary Petrie. At 3:45 p.m., MC Scot will do his balloon extravaganza. More music at 4 with Jimmy Austin (featuring Kenny Chapman on percussion) and 4:45 with MC Scot and his Krazy Juggling Act.
With all this going on there will be games for the kids from 5-8 (a big hit with the kids the last two years).
Celtic Music from PEI will be on the docket at 5. At 5:45 will be MC Scot and the magic Show for Krazy Kids. Jimmy Austin and Kenny Chapman perform at 6:15, with MC Scot with more magic featuring an escape at 7! Then, Celtic music at 7:15, followed by Jamie and Gary at 8.
The American Legion will present a Veterans Memorial Ceremony at 8:45. The Mountain Valley High School chorus will sing the National Anthem at 9:15 and the fabulous fireworks display will start at approximately 9:18.
A small group of volunteers have worked hard and diligently to bring this day to fruition. This group consists of: Greg Buccina,
Mary LaPointe, April McLean, Carlo Puiia, Jeff Sterling, Marie Boudreau, Barbara Arsenault, Scot Grassette and the group from Praise Assembly of God. If you see any of these people that day please thank them for their hard work and if you can offer them a donation (any amount will help) toward next year’s celebration/fireworks.
