The Chamber Chatter
Our visitors arriving here at the Rumford Information Center are asking about the fall foliage (when it will peak, etc.) and are excited to see one of nature’s most beautiful sights especially right here in the River Valley!
We are in the planning stages for the Christmas in the Valley parade which this year will take place on Friday, December 2 starting at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Maine Christmas.”
If you are interested in entering a float in either the non-profit or business category please contact me either by phone or email provide at the end of this Chamber Chatter. The next day will be the highly anticipated Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair. If you would like to view one of the raffle items that will be given away at the Craft Fair you will be able to view (and buy chances on) the wagon filled with great prizes at the RVCC table during the Hope Association (formerly the Armory) Oktoberfest on October 15th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Black Mountain of Maine (BMOM) is having a “Business After Hours” event sponsored by the River Valley Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, October 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. They are also having their second annual Oktoberfest on October 22, which will feature early bird season pass day, ski swap, beer tasting dinner, music by Punting Baxter and the third leg of the River Valley Rotary Club/River Valley Chamber of Commerce 5K Challenge Series trail run at 9 a.m. The elite sponsors for the race are BMOM and Chisholm Ski Club. There are many great upcoming events at BMOM that I will share with you in future chatters.
Just a reminder to pick up your Stash for Cash tickets (drawings start Nov 1) at the Rumford Information Center, Davis Florist, Mountain View Eyecare, Community Energy or many of our member businesses.
If you would like more information on any of the Chamber’s events, call the office at 364-3241 or email email@example.com.
