The Rumford Performing Arts Committee is having the Festival of Trees at Rumford Falls Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Dec. 10. The little ones can have their pictures taken with Santa, Frosty and Panda Bear! Doors will open at 6 p.m. and is free to the public.
Who makes the best pie in the River Valley? A pie contest will take place at the Christmas in the Valley Craft Fair on Dec. 3. The River Valley Relay For Life Committee is sponsoring the event.
Each participant will be asked to make two pies one for judging and the other one for me to eat, no I mean the other will be sold to the public. The pies will be judged on texture, taste and appearance. Ribbons will be given to the top three pies of the day. If you would like to enter in the contest you can contact me and I will get you the needed documentation (what we used to call paperwork). The forms are also available at Erik Designs or Davis Florist. This must be done by December 1st. Pies need to be at the Craft Fair by 10 a.m. on Dec. 3. Please use disposable pie plates. All proceeds will go to the Relay For Life event that takes place in June at the Hosmer Field Complex. Judging will be at 11 a.m. the day of the Craft Fair.
Don’t forget the Black Mountain of Maine’s Vendor Fair at the mountain on Dec. 2 from 3 to 9 p.m.
