Free Child ID program
To the Editor:
Open letter to parents:
If your child went missing tomorrow, what information do you have to turn over to the authorities? Do you have up-to-date photos, fingerprints, a DNA sample, or a complete biographical description containing height, weight, scars or other distinguishing characteristics and a short video showing mannerisms, etc.?
The Child Identification Program will provide you with all of the above is free. That's right -- no charge to you. All of this information is given to you.
No outside agency will be given this unless you give it to them. Once we push the delete button on computer, it is gone forever. A CHIP program will be held on Sunday at the Ludden Memorial Library in Dixfield.
CHIP is designed to identify children from newborn to 18 years of age. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the meeting room on the lower level. You will have to fill out an info sheet and permission slip. The only thing we keep is the permission slip; you will be given everything else for safe keeping.
