A huge false statement

To the Editor:

In a recent article in the Sun Journal about the joint meeting of the Mexico selectmen and the Budget Committee, there was a huge false statement!

The Budget Committee did not, I repeat -- did not ever agree with the selectmen on their final figure of $114,000 as stated. The Budget Committee stuck with their lower figure of $93,000 which was the same as last year's budget.

The selectmen wanted $114,000 while the budget committee said $93,000.

You must vote "no" on the selectmen's figures in order to get the lower Budget Committee's number.

A "no" vote will help keep our already rising taxes down a little.

Please vote "no" on Aug. 30.
