Democrats to hold barbeque
BRYANT POND -- The Oxford County Democrats summer barbeque has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 18 at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Leadership Center in Bryant Pond.
The event was originally set for August 28 but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irene. Congressman Mike Michaud has confirmed for the new date, and former Secretary of State Matt Dunlap of Old Town and Rep. Jon Hinck of Portland, both potential contenders for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in 2012 will be in attendance.
Other guests will include Democratic National Committeeman Sam Spencer, and other legislative and party leaders, as well as local legislators.
The program will begin with a meet and greet social at 4:30, followed by a cookout meal with all the fixings at 5:30 in the dining hall. There will be an introduction of guests and remarks following the meal.
