I can hear the tourists now

To the Editor:

Do you see some leaves beginning to turn color?

Fall is coming and the colors are coming to our towns and the River Valley area. Such beauty we often comment on.

How many times I have driven down Maine Avenue toward Spruce Street and my wife commented on the beauty of the leaves on the back hills.

While we might comment on the colors in the fall here in our neighborhoods and the valley, we have not advertised this beauty enough for tourists.

We have something very special here in our River Valley.

Imagine living in the great American cities of glass and cement, driving through Maine on vacation and seeing the red, yellow, orange leaves of fall everywhere.

I can hear the tourists now: "My God, honey, will you look at those leaves, the colors! That's amazing!"
