About Domestic Violence Awareness Month
To the Editor:
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
I have not heard that abortion and euthanasia are considered domestic violence by those involved in this month’s activities.
But, the first home for a child is the mother’s womb from which the child is torn with the violence of abortion.
And the last home for a woman is the temple of her body which is violated when euthanasia is employed to deprive her of life. Of course, euthanasia does not have to be violent with drugs and quiet decision to refuse treatment.
Demonstrations supporting a woman’s right to life against violence I have witnessed were prayerful. No demonstrator replied to angry passer-by. There were simple signs supporting life, phone numbers for help, and there were prayers.
Yes, there were prayers supporting the right to life.
May we Christians pray to become more aware of domestic violence in all its forms. May we oppose domestic violence with prayer and active support.
May the peace of Christ be with us for life…
