Running for Peru board
To the Editor:
I decided to run for the two-month term for selectman (in Peru) to help with the transition for any newly elected selectmen and to help get through the 2013-2014 budget process.
I worked at the town office for seven years. During that time, I prepared the warrant articles for the selectmen, filled in the information from the previous year and they came up with the amount to be raised for the year. I attended all the selectmen's budget meetings and the selectmen/Finance Committee budget meetings.
I have an understanding of what needs to be done and how to come up with a budget that will be in the best interest of the taxpayers. This is a very important part of the selectmen's duties and I believe my experience can make a difference.
I would appreciate your support on April 9.
