Hebert running for Dixfield selectwoman
To the Editor:
Sandra Hebert of Dixfield is running for selectwoman, a two-year term.
She currently is director for Oxford County Special Olympics which takes up 20 hours a week of service to people with different abilities. She feels she will transfer those hours if elected. She will be active but with less responsibilities.
Sandra has always had an active schedule as she raised five children and seven foster children; served on the school board and Region IX Boards for six terms; instituted the Merit Store at Dirigo Middle School and Hooked on Phonics as a volunteer.
She is active in her community, serving as president for Poodunck Snowmobile Club in 1979-80 and later as chairman of the Planning Board, which created the first Comprehensive Plan.
Sandra holds a Real Estate Broker, assessor and appraiser license which she plans to reactivate upon retirement in 10 years. She currently owns The Emma R Foundation, who services people with different disabilities and employes seven professionals.
She has managed $3 million budgets, wrote grants, reads and follow regulations, set policies, assessed the Town of Dixfield and Andover in the 90's, most importantly has lived in Dixfield for over 35 years.
"When elected, I would commit to working on the town's valuation, expenditures, and keeping the mil rate low; with constant researching for business and educational opportunities for our citizens. I hope June 11, people will remember my commitments to the previous positions that I held in Dixfield and elect me one more time."
