Support for John Patrick
To the Editor:
I have had the privilege to work alongside John Patrick in the Rumford paper mill. John is a hard worker with good skills. John was vice president of USW Local 900 (UPIU at the time) while I was the President in the early 90’s.
Mr. Patrick demonstrated a wide array of knowledge and dedication serving the then 1,150-person membership during his tenure. Workers in the paper mill owe a debt of gratitude for John’s willingness to serve and help his fellow workers. John Patrick has saved jobs, fought for a safer work place, and stood up to management for fairer contracts and workers’ rights.
I have also spent some time this year in Augusta at legislative hearings and meeting with my senators and representatives in the halls including incumbent Senator John Patrick. Senator Patrick is always there for the working man and small business person, the average
Mainer. Not only is he there, but he is loudest voice. Patrick stands up, speaks up, and is not shy about taking on the big guns and corporate lobbyist.
I will cast my vote, again, for Senator John Patrick because I know he will fight, again, for me and my fellow workers. If you are a hard working Mainer, you may want to do the same.
