Inaction a waste of Peru money

To the Editor:

What is going on at the Peru selectmen? A couple selectmen are bound to cause the town to spend lots of money on frivolous law suits in my opinion.Why?

Someone wants to sue the town and then wants the town to pay their lawyer expenses. Is this having your candy and eating it, too? Seems like this is causing more problems for this town than it needs. Our selectmen should be defending this town not digging their feet in and causing this town to waste money.

If someone wants to sue this town, so be it. But let them pay their own legal fees. They might think twice then.

I was under the impression that our elected selectmen were supposed to defend this town. What happened to the oath that they took to defend the constitution and serve the people? Since they choose not to perhaps they should be recalled by the same ordinance that they put up for vote last month. What do you think?
