Thanks to River Valley businesses

To the Editor:

A few weekends ago, I attended two benefits held in Rumford for local folks who have had surgery and still are in need of medical attention.

I was amazed at how many businesses had donated products to the events to raise money for the recipients. In tough times like we are in now, it showed how lucky we are to live in such an area where the locals take care of one another.

Many of the businesses had donated to both fundraisers. How heartwarming it is to see how the local folks are willing to give of themselves to help someone else.

I also was involved with the Blessing of the Sleds and again, the businesses were very generous to this event. We had 57 different businesses on the Blessing sweatshirt!

Again, with the economy the way it is, it's unreal how much our businesses do for our area. When shopping, please think of how much our local stores do for all of us here in the River Valley.

Makes me proud to live here. Thanks River Valley businesses. You're the best!
