A very worthwhile venture
To the Editor:
Thank you to Sgt. Tracey Higley and a crew of volunteers who put on a program called "Every Fifteen Minutes" at Mountain Valley High School last week.
What a powerful program it was. Sgt. Higley did an outstanding job at showing how a split second bad decision can have such tragic consequences.
Rumford is lucky to have someone willing to put in countless hours to try impressing the students on just how important it is not to be drinking and driving or texting when driving.
A big thank you to all the other folks involved and the businesses that helped support this very worthwhile venture. Mountain Valley has a lot of great kids and caring teachers, and because of this fantastic program, I feel that it "hit home" with a lot of the students and will certainly make a difference.
I have heard Sgt. Higley say that if it saves just one life, it was worth it. I feel he did that and more. Thank you so much for all the time and effort everyone put into making this a very successful event. We are lucky to have such caring people always looking out for the students in our communities!
One reason why living in the River Valley area is such a benefit.
