A job well done

To the Editor:

Rumford can be very proud of the festivities that the selectmen and town manager put together for the Fourth of July celebration.

I don’t think there have ever been so many people in Rumford at one time! And what a celebration it was, from Scot Grassette, with his “Walk of Death” and magic show to the music, the vendors, and others that set up along the running track at Hosmer, plus the fireworks show.

It was an afternoon and evening full of entertainment and great food. Something like this takes a lot of preparation and Greg Buccina and his crew did an outstanding job. The Rumford Parks Commission also were very present to help keep things rolling smoothly.

I was somewhat involved with the “Duck Race” and want to personally thank Greg Buccina for “being there” when we ran into a little “snag.” He kept his cool and personally took care of what we needed.

Greg also jumped into the river, shoes and all, to help get all the “ducks-in-a-row”, so no one duck had an advantage! Thank you Greg, you were an awesome help. Once again, Rumford can be very proud of a job well done. Can’t wait till next year!
