Show of support for town manager

To the Editor:

I was very disappointed to read in the newspaper that Gene Skibitsky resigned his position as Dixfield town manager.

Dixfield was so fortunate to have a man with his knowledge, a hardworker, and years of experience running a business. He was the perfect person to run our small town in this bad economy.

I was proud to live in Dixfield where we have great town employees and have avoided the fighting that goes on in towns around us. Since June that has changed. You can't elect people who have an axe to grind and solely want to prevent windmills from being built in their backyards.

I'm guessing that the new toxic atmosphere in our town politics has a lot to do with Mr. Skibitsky's resignation. He didn't need the job. He was retired and wanted to give back to the town where he raised his children.

It would be nice to see a big show of support for Gene Skibitsky. Maybe he would reconsider his resignation if he knew the town was behind him.

Martha Kelly,

Dixfield
