Thanks from the Mahoosuc Arts Council
To the Editor:
The Mahoosuc Arts Council would like to sincerely thank the many community members and businesses for the extraordinary show of support during our annual phone-a-thon and annual fund drive over the past month.
During such a tough economy, new gifts and increases to pledges from previous donors are continuing, which validates our efforts to bring high-quality programs in the performing and visual arts and humanities into our community and schools.
For those who would like to make your impact, it is not too late. During this season of giving many of us are making careful decisions on how we will spend our charitable donation budgets on meaningful gifts to nonprofits which will benefit our communities and local economies.
The Mahoosuc Arts Council asks that you consider a making gift to support the advancement of the arts and humanities in the adult communities and school systems of the Greater Bethel Area. Supporting this cause not only has significant cultural and educational impact, it also has broad economic impact: The council employs Maine visual and performing artists; The council build opportunities for small businesses in the arts; The council’s events draw thousands of visitors to Western Maine who also patronize inns, restaurants, gift shops, gas stations, grocery stores, camp grounds, galleries and more.
So, your gift to the Mahoosuc Arts Council not only helps to support the arts and humanities, it will also help to support jobs, business opportunities, cultural tourism, arts educational programming and much, much more.
Many thanks to all who have donated time, given gifts, offered moral support, pledged donations or attended performances over all of those years. And, many thanks to those who will consider giving to the arts for the first time.
