Was a traffic study done?
To the Editor:
The Town of Rumford will have a new Amato's restaurant located on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Cumberland Street on Route 2.
Who did the research and traffic study for the location of this business? I believe the town slid the entrance onto Cumberland Street to avoid any traffic studies.
1. This new business is located on the busiest section of Route 2 in town. We have a traffic problem in this area now and this should really add to more problems.
2. The location is on a hill for stopping and turning. During the winter months, this will be a traffic problem from traffic crossing the eastbound lane traffic.
3. The banquet room downstairs will cater 400 or 500 people. Where will all the people park with the restaurant having only 15 parking spaces?
I believe the people in charge of locating this business on this corner did not realize the many problems they have created.
This business would be a good addition to the town, located on the right lot.
