Industrial wind is detrimental
To the Editor:
Can Dixfield have industrial wind within the town’s boundaries and be assured that every property owner will not realize negative impacts?
The easy answer is no. Industrial wind, clean and green as it may be, is detrimental to every single household with an electric bill. It is a simple fool that would give money away to create a burden of additional expense to his/her cost of living and get nothing in return.
Good old greed is a most powerful persuader and terrific incentive to the unknowing. Check out how easily town officials in Dixfield bought into the invitation to host a large project on the Colonel Holman Mountain Ridge. They would welcome a proposition that would have the whole country paying billions and billions of dollars that adds nothing to the way we live now. No climate advantage. No discontinued use of oil. No environmental advantage. No economic advantage. Wind power is an idea that should be put to rest right now.
It penalizes every taxpayer/ratepayer with its uselessness and, once they are up, they won’t come down without penalizing each one of us again.
