A strange thing
To the Editor:
A strange thing happened the other night while most everyone was enjoying a nice, summer evening.
Eighteen people decided to allow the town to go out and borrow nearly $2 million to finance a road project that incorporates less than 2 percent of the town’s roads, streets and avenues.
Some of the 18 people were employees of town government, some were residents of the project area. Some residents within the project area were personally contacted by select board members about this forthcoming vote, while most all other people of town were challenged to find out about it by their own methods.
There are several things at issue about the above described events and, without saying, property taxes will rise. Name of town withheld to prevent eruption of civil disobedience.
