Wind power impact will be felt
To the Editor:
There can be no doubt that property within a mile or two from industrial wind farms not part of the project’s easement agreement will receive municipal tax abatements sometime during the 20-year operational period due to the decreasing resale value attributable to the scenic and noise impacts generated by these open air turbines as large as a school buses.
It is currently starting to happen throughout New England. Property owners out of site and sound of turbines will logically receive a larger tax bill to make up the overall loss of revenue with these abatements.
Not in my backyard does not mean it won’t drive up your personal expenses, as we continue to entertain the idea that wind power will lead to a cleaner environment.
You may not see or hear them, but you will "feel" them.
