Search for meaning
To the Editor:
To the citizens of Peru and beyond:
Search for Meaning; Author Viktor Frankl offered the thought that for everyone in a dire condition there issomeone looking down, a friend, family member, or even God, who would expect not tobe disappointed.
Man's Search for Meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl chronicling hisexperiences as a concentration camp inmate and describing his psychotherapeuticmethod of finding a reason to live.
I feel very strongly with the message of this passage and I try to live my life by it as an individual, professional, parent, and a follower of a higher calling. I say often to my children that it is their decision to make; choose wisely.
You may be successful and you may decide as an afterthought that you were hopeful of a different outcome than you had hoped for.
Moving forward you would then plan for a different approach. Both ways should be deemed as a success if you learn from it. The most important powerful factor here is that you made a decision based on your beliefs, morals, life experiences and knowledge.
Times have changed and allowed for some pretty amazing opportunities for all of us over the years. It is my belief still today that the most important thing one can hold onto regardless of your religion, party line, or other factors is your right to choose your own attitude and empower yourself to make a difference. Don’t ever downplay or give away that right!
We are all busy in our day to day lives but I urge you all to listen, learn, and be knowledgeable about all the decisions you make. I share these beliefs with you today with hope of inspiring you to get involved with something that will lead to a positive change.
Understand what cause or belief it is that you are joining or rallying for. Hope is untouched dreams. In all that we do we should be lifting others up, praising them, and inspiring them to be the best that they can be. If what you are offering is causing harm perhaps you should re-think your plan.
I am nowhere. The power of a positive attitude is contagious. Is yours worth catching? I am now here.
Where do you stand? What are your values and core beliefs? Which path to change do you wish to follow?
