Protect us

To the Editor:

This morning in the Sun Journal I read "Social Security checks in doubt." Why whenever cuts are made, it's always to the less fortunate?

Cuts in Social Security will affect hospital, doctors and nursing homes and assisted living. I have three siblings in some of these places.

Why can't senators and representatives, and the President, give back some? They have more than they need and don't think of the people they serve first.

Seniors are the population that's in a situation that without that check most of us have nothing else.

A lot of the country's people are unemployed, so they depend on state and local assistance.

Many children are hungry, cold, no shoes and only one parent. Please reconsider this decision and take what money is needed from the top funds, not the poor.

You were all elected by the people, so protect us by giving back some of what you have that is more than Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Mike Michaud and President Obama really need.

Anyone who thinks this is something you agree on, send a letter and let's rally!
