Thank you for the Steve Day 5K

To the Editor:

My wife Paula and I would like to sincerely thank all those who came out to support the 5K race and auction held on our behalf. Since

I was diagnosed with Leukemia in May, this entire community has been more than generous with their thoughts, prayers, and gifts.

We cannot express enough our gratitude and appreciation.

As many people know, I am an avid runner and was thrilled to see over 200 runners and walkers lined up at the start of the 5K race.

My health prevented me from attending the auction and dance held at Black Mountain, but I heard everyone had a fun evening.

Thanks to all the businesses and individuals who sponsored the race, and donated or bid on all the fantastic auction items. A lot of these folks receive multiple requests for donations each year and give generously without a second thought. It’s incredible.

Finally, a huge thank you to Charley and Jen LeDuc, and their group of hardworking volunteers, for the countless hours they spent organizing and running the events.

We are blessed to have such wonderful family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
