We are having our River Valley Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner on April 30th.

Honored categories will be Business Person/Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Customer Service of the Year and Non-Profit/Community Service Leadership Award.

This is always a great time for our members and very worthy recipients of the awards. At this point the theme looks like it will be a sock hop. Poodle skirts, saddle shoes, penny loafers, hair slicked back (if you have enough or any to do so), pony tails, Happy Days!

Just a little before my time but I am very familiar with it as I had three older sisters who relished those years.

It may be a bit early but for those of you who play golf, but if you want to advertise or sponsor a team for the 9th Annual Rumford Rotary & River Valley Chamber Golf Tournament, it will take place on July 12th. You can reserve a spot by calling Rich Allen at 357-8023.

You get a nice treat for you and your family and they earn money to assist with special activities not covered by assistance. A great cause!

The River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is sponsoring a “winter walk into spring.” It is a self-paced program that encourages people to walk 100 miles in 100 days. It started January 31st and will end May 10 but it is never too late to start. The RVHCC challenges community members to grab a friend or colleague and walk.

Just track the days and number of miles you walk on a record sheet. Contact Carol or Sandy at 364-7408 for more information.
