Has this ever happened to you?
To the Editor:
A strange thing happened on the phones on Feb. 15.
I was calling the script line for the Rumford physicians' group to get a prescription refill. When you first get that line there is a recorded message, then you give your order. While I was doing that, a young man cut in on me and wanted to know why I called him on his cell phone?
Number one, I did not call him. Number two, how could he have cut in on a line that was in use?
We ended up with a three-party line. I thought party lines went out ages ago.
Anyway, he got real upset when I asked him how come he cut in like that. He shouted that he didn't do it but that I called him. Apparently the phone lines were really screwed up that day or this would not have been able to happen.
This young man was so upset I hung up on him. Whoever you are I apologize for doing it. I just could not make you understand what was happening. I did not call you.
How my number ended up on your phone I just don't know? How you managed to cut in on two open lines in use
I don't know? I think Fair Point was having lots of issues that day.
Is this what we are paying good money for? How did my number show up on his phone when I didn't call him?
How was he able to cut in on me while I was on the phone? If this isn't strange, what is?
Has this happened to anyone else?
