Love in a small town

To the Editor:

My husband and I both underwent surgery recently.

We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love we have received. The cards, phone calls, food, visits and our mail and paper delivered daily.

Shortly before Christmas, a knock came on our door. A group of Christmas carolers of all ages were to serenade me. I felt sad as my husband is still in the hospital. They informed me they had been to the hospital to see him first.

Our motto in Peru is "Neighbors Helping Neighbors." Thank you neighbors.
