Post 100 Commander's Corner

Fellow Veterans of Post 100 American Legion in Dixfield. Our time is near for the nominations of new Officers.

The positions still open are as follows: 2 Vice Commander, Historian, Adjutant. We have Officers who are ready to step into some positions and carry us into 2014.

It is with great respect that another has been called to the great commander's side. We have some news, for those who haven't paid this year's dues. You are in suspension of Legionnaire rights and privileges. You will not be able to transfer to another post.

From National down, the chain everyone is restructuring coming into compliance. It bereaves me to see Legions let go and be paper posts. We need your help in making each veteran who comes home feel welcome, and secure in knowing that their fight was not in vain.

Our older comrades of WWII and many of Korea have gone on. We now have Korea and Vietnam Vets that are still here and all of the men and women of the wars that followed us are now needing us to carry the ball for them.

So all you new veterans come to your local legions and join a great organization. We here at Post 100 are at 76.83% needing 19 to be back at 100%. Let us help you with paper work, for appointments, pensions or other care.

Lady Veterans, Togus is structuring a unit for the type of care you may need. Pride is sometimes hard to swallow but if you need help make the effort to call on your local Post, anyone of them would be able to assist you in your needs.
