Remember to "carry in and carry out"

To the Editor:

As another snowmobile season starts, please remember to “carry in and carry out."

This applies to any season as well. The snowmobile clubs in this state are hearing of more and more trails being closed because of litter left behind by various “land users.”

It is a shame that this is happening. Here in Dixfield, we have this year to “prove” that we can help with this situation! And only you can make it happen.

Please return with that empty can or bottle, that candy wrapper or anything else you take on your trip. Remember the saying Smokey the Bear has about "only you" can prevent forest fires; well "only you" can help us keep our trails from being closed next year.

This is not a joke, it's very serious. And you can’t blame the landowner. How would you like it if every time folks went by your place they threw out their trash?

Think about it and please help us keep our precious right to use other people’s land. Remember, it’s a privilege and not a right!

Thank you for your help. And if you see any trash on the trail please stop and pick it up to

insure us of continued use.

Dixfield
