A Durham male plead guilty to trafficking and cultivating marijuana in Androscoggin Superior Court this week. The plea stems from a case that Trooper’s Pappas and Physic investigated in July. The man received under a year of jail time. The man also forfeited $6000 which was drug money seized during the course of the investigation.
A Lisbon male plead guilty to possession of Scheduled W drugs and cultivating marijuana. The plea stems from a case that Trooper Pappas investigated in June. The man received under a year of jail time. The man also forfeited $3200 which was drug money seized during the course of the investigation.
Tr. Fillebrown responded to a domestic dispute in Hiram. The female was found to be the predominant aggressor and was arrested for domestic assault.
Tr. Fillebrown responded to a domestic dispute in Waterford. A boyfriend and girlfriend had been fighting about her leaving and taking the child. Investigation found that the female had hit the male on the chest. She was arrested for domestic violence assault on the male. Tr. Fillebrown and K9 Caro assisted Oxford SO in locating a male for Lewiston PD in Otisfield. The subject was a suspect in a stolen vehicle, and had multiple warrants including one for criminal threatening. The male was located at the residence and arrested without incident.
Trooper Wing assisted a local PD during an OUI detail at a noise complaint. After disorderly conduct warnings were given Trooper Wing arrested one of the people after he continued investigating the situation. After being arrested the subject claimed he was injured and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. After he was released he was taken to jail where he was charged with disorderly conduct.
Trooper Wing responded to a call where two males were threatening another male and with a hammer.
When Trooper Wing arrived he spoke with the victims who said that they had broken into a washing machine trying to steal the change out of it and then left when he confronted them. Trooper Wing located the males by following the scent of marijuana and the description given to him. The males were taken back to Trooper Wing's cruiser and were issued summonses for criminal threatening and criminal mischief.
Trooper Farley responded to a crash in New Gloucester. Once on scene, the female operator admitted to driving recklessly which led to her striking a telephone pole. After a brief investigation it was also determined the operator was under the influence of alcohol. Trooper Farley arrested her. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle. The female was transported to the Cumberland County Jail for a test. The result of the test was a .24 BraC. The female was charge with OUI 1 prior, operating without a license in violation of condition/restriction, driving to endanger, violation of conditional release, sale/use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of useable. She was also issued a violation summons for failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Trooper Physic was stationary on Rt. 100 facing the northbound direction in Gray when a vehicle which was traveling southbound came into the northbound lane. Trooper Physic followed the vehicle and observed the vehicle operating erratically. Trooper Physic initiated a traffic stop. After determining the driver had been drinking, Trooper Physic put the driver through a battery of field sobriety tests. The driver failed and was arrested for criminal OUI and operating beyond license restriction (Q). The driver took an intoxilyzer test with a BrAC .18%. The driver later admitted to Trooper Physic that he did not have ride so he took a chance on driving.
Tpr. Jamo was patrolling on Lisbon Street in Lewiston when he observed an SUV exiting "The Carriage House" and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Tr. Jamo initiated a traffic stop and found that the 31-year-old female was intoxicated, along with her male passenger. After a brief interview and battery of field sobriety tests, Tr. Jamo arrested the female for OUI and transported her to the Androscoggin County Jail. The female tested at a .17% BrAC and she was summoned to Lewiston D.C.
Trooper Pappas arrested a male for OUI after a traffic stop in Naples. The result of the test was .14%.
Trooper Jamo was monitoring traffic on the new portion of Route 26 in Poland. Tr. Jamo observed a speeding southbound vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The 52 year old male immediately stated that he was bringing his wife to the hospital because she was sick and not feeling well. During the conversation with the male about the type of sickness and severity, Tr. Jamo detected an odor of intoxicants coming from the male. After a brief interview and a battery of field sobriety tests, Tr. Jamo arrested the male operator for OUI. After the arrival of Poland Rescue, Tr. Jamo transported the male to the Androscoggin County Jail where he tested a .13% BrAC. The male was summoned to Lewiston D.C.
Trooper Jamo was following an erratic vehicle southbound on Route 4 in Turner when the operator suddenly sped up to 79 MPH in the 45 MPH zone near the Auburn town line. Tr. Jamo initiated a traffic stop and found two females attempting to switch drivers, but got entangled with each other in the center console area. Tr. Jamo ordered the once female operator out of the vehicle and suspected that she was under the influence. After a short interview and battery of field sobriety tests, Tr. Jamo arrested the 29 year old female for OUI, OAS, violating conditions of release, and a conditional (Q) violation. The female was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail where she tested a .09% BrAC. Tr. Jamo later learned from the Auburn DA's office that this OUI would be the third in line of pending criminal OUI's in their office.
While Trooper Physic was patrolling he observed a vehicle operating erratically. While Trooper Physic was interviewing the driver, he told Trooper Physic that he had two beers. Trooper Physic administered field sobriety and subsequently arrested the driver for OUI. The driver became uncooperative, kicking and stating racial slurs. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department transported. At the jail, Trooper Physic attempted to give the driver an intoxilyzer test, but the driver would not cooperate. The driver was charged with OUI and refusal to submit to arrest or detention.
Trooper Wing stopped a vehicle during an OUI detail after seeing sparks as the exhaust dragged came from under the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver and occupants Trooper Wing found the driver to be impaired from alcohol and drugs. The driver admitted to taking shots while driving and recently smoking marijuana. Trooper Wing requested a K9 from Portland PD and removed the driver and occupants after conducting searches of all 6 people. Trooper Wing arrested the operator for OUI drugs, operating without a license, illegal transportation of liquor after the driver admitted he was high and was visibly impaired. A 21-year-old passenger was arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors, and another passenger was arrested for violation of bail and unlawful use of ID. An 18-year-old female passenger was summonsed for consuming alcohol after she admitted to consuming. A K9 followed by a hand search of the vehicle revealed no drugs but a 1/2 gallon of vodka and near empty 1/5 of Hennessey was discovered.
Trooper Wing stopped a vehicle during and OUI detail for a plate light. After a roadside investigation the operator was arrested and taken to a local PD and charged with OUI drugs.
Trooper Wing stopped a vehicle after witnessing the passenger banging on the doors of a closed business late at night. The 17-year-old driver from New Hampshire was found to be drinking and was arrested.
His 18-year-old passenger and vehicle owner had been drinking as well and knowingly allowed the underage driver to operate his vehicle. He was arrested for permitting unlawful use. They were taken to a near by substation and after contact was made with the JCCO and the juvenile's parents he was summonsed for operating without a license and consuming alcohol and the passenger charged withpermitting unlawful use and minor consuming alcohol. Trooper Wing returned them to Sunday River.
Trooper Casey responded to Newry after receiving reports that a male subject left a drinking establishment intoxicated and was seen driving to another. Trooper Casey located the man at the Phoenix Restaurant in Newry and conducted and OUI investigation. The suspect was subsequently arrested after failing field sobriety testing inside the bar. He was charged with OUI.
Tr. Fillebrown was operating on Route 35 in Waterford and observed a female driving that he recognized and was aware that her license was revoked habitual offender. The female stopped at a store and went inside. Tr. Fillebrown located her and arrested her for operating after revoked Class C.
Trooper Physic received a complaint of trash being thrown on property. The complainant stated he had lost contact with the vehicle. Trooper Physic pulled over a vehicle fitting the description. The driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver license status and an active warrant. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
Trooper Farley while working an OUI detail in Greene stopped a vehicle for a defective headlight. After a brief investigation it was determined the female operator was suspended for accumulation of convictions. She was charged accordingly.
Trooper Pappas summonsed four operators for criminal OAS this week.
Trooper Welch stopped a vehicle for speeding. The subject was subsequently arrested for OAS, operating unregistered motor vehicle and possession of Schedule (Z) drugs.
Trooper Welch stopped a car for speeding. The driver was charged with OAS and a female passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Trooper Farley responded to a property damage crash in Gray between a tractor trailer and van.
Trooper Farley was advised the van involved was the same one Trooper Farley had been looking for reference an erratic operation. After a brief investigation it was determine the female operator had been distracted when she bent down to pick up a cell phone charger and did not stop at the red light. Trooper Farley also learned the female had been on the phone while she was driving erratically. Trooper Farley charged the female with driving to endanger. She was also issued summons for Failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Trooper Wing stopped a vehicle after a DMV query showed the registration was expired for 18 months.
Trooper Wing made contact with both occupants and after a vehicle search located a marijuana pipe on the passenger.
Trooper Physic was on patrol when he observed a vehicle operating erratically. Trooper Physic initiated a traffic stop. Trooper Physic learned the vehicle’s registration had been suspended. The driver was summons for operating vehicle with suspended registration.
Trooper Physic was patrolling when a vehicle heading toward him did not dim their headlights. Trooper Physic caught up with the driver. After checking his information, Trooper Physic attempted to get consent to search the vehicle from the driver, but was denied. Trooper Fillebrown and his K-9 Caro did drug sniff on the vehicle. Caro positively indicated there were drugs in the vehicle. Trooper Physic searched the vehicle where they found marijuana and marijuana pipes. The driver of the vehicle received a summons for failure to dim lights, possession of usable amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Trooper Casey responded to a residence in Gilead after receiving a loud party complaint. Upon arrival, Trooper Casey determined that all occupants of the residence present were under age and most had been drinking. Trooper Casey and an assisting deputy made contact with all of the juveniles’ parents and advised them of the situation. All minors who had been consuming liquor were issued summonses (5), by Trooper Casey for illegal possession of liquor by a minor. The leaser of the residence was arrested and transported to the Oxford County Jail. He was charged with furnishing a place for minors to possess or consume liquor.
