RSU 10, Dixfield panel sign agreement
Apr 12, 2013 12:00 amDIXFIELD -- The RSU 10 Board of Directors and the Dixfield Withdrawal Committee have both approved an agreement that would stop the move to leave the school district.
The RSU 10 board signed the agreement Monday. The Dixfield Withdrawal Committee signed the agreement last Wednesday. The agreement was negotiated by attorneys Dan Stockford for the committee and Bill Stockmeyer for RSU 10, could serve as a model for any other town.
Decision soon on possible UMA move
Apr 12, 2013 12:00 amRUMFORD -- At the start of a workshop held on April 2, RSU 10 board members parts of Mountain Valley High School that is not being utilized presently.
These are also areas that could be used if the university system, Rumford/Mexico Center, decides to lease space there. The college is presently located on Brown Street in Mexico, but more space is needed for their growing enrollment. Supt. Tom Ward said RSU 10 should know whether the high school is accepted as part of the UMS by May 1.
Voters go to polls
Apr 12, 2013 12:00 amPERU- Voters were anticipated to be out in droves Tuesday as they were being asked to replace the four selectmen they recalled back in March. On Monday, Town Clerk, Vera Parent, stated, “It’s definitely going to be interesting. The feelings have been mixed across the board.”

Hope of sharing services?
Apr 12, 2013 12:00 amRUMFORD -- With the hopes that this time talks will yield positive results, the board of selectmen from Rumford and Mexico will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.
The public meeting will take place downstairs in the Mexico Town Hall.
This time, Rumford Selectman Jolene Lovejoy pushed for the meeting and talked to two Mexico selectmen who favored the talks. She said Mexico set a date and her board approved the measure Thursday.

Promoting and instilling quality community values in our youth is something the Eagles stand behind. Each year, the organization holds a Child Advocacy Day contest. The contest requires that local Aeries/Auxiliaries host an event in their community that teaches area youth safety, protection, prevention and other health and welfare activities.
