Still the Cougars finished a respectable sixth, scoring 64 points. It became evident early on that Troy Howard was head and shoulders above the rest. The Belfast-based school, led with three individual champions and four placed third.

CAMDEN-ROCKPORT -- Following having a solid season, Mountain Valley felt that if the team's received strong performances last Saturday they could make some noise in the Pine Tree Wrestling League championships.

Expectations fell shy as the Falcons finished third (102 points) at Camden-Rockport Middle School. The class of the field was Troy Howard (Belfast) who scored 154 to run away with the championship. Oceanside (104.5) edged out the Falcons for the runner-up spot.

  • River Valley Outdoors

An all-night rain last week moistened the lawn enough to create a hint of spring in the air – pungent, earthy smells wafting in the warm breeze and pleasant sounds of birds chirping their spring songs.

With all the winter activities I’ve been involved in lately, any preparations for the upcoming fishing season have been put on the back burner.

During the tail end of last year’s fishing season I made a few mental notes, kind of a to-do list of things I learned that summer that I thought would improve my fishing the next year.
