Feb 11, 2011 12:02 amHANOVER -- Jacqueline M. Corriveau, 51, died on February 3, 2011 in Hanover. She was a resident of Osgood Avenue in Mexico.
Born in Lewiston on May 11, 1959, she was a daughter of the late George and Greta (Timberlake) Chicoine.
Jacqueline was a strong woman who faced many challenges in her life, but remained a loving mother, wife and grandmother.
Helen F. Guay
Feb 11, 2011 12:02 amFARMINGTON -- Helen F. Guay, 90, died on January 31, 2011 at Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center.
A lifelong resident of the Bingham area, she was born on November 2, 1920, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Peter and Bride Frances (Pennell) Cloutier. After graduating from Livermore Falls High School, she worked at Harris Stamp Co. in Arlington, MA.
She then worked in her father’s grocery store in Portland, where she met, and later married, Gerard B. Guay, on November 14, 1942.
Roger W. Lane
Feb 11, 2011 12:02 amLIVERMORE -- Roger W. Lane, 83, of Livermore, died on Jan. 30, 2011 at his home in Livermore following a long illness with dementia.
He was born March 1, 1927 a son of Elmer and Mary (Richardson) Lane.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy.
For 45 years, he was employed at the Rumford Paper Mill. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and cross country skiing.
Claudia M. Emery
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amRUMFORD -- Claudia M. Emery, 81, of Dixfield, died on Jan. 28, 2011, at the Rumford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born at Severy Hill in Dixfield on Dec. 18, 1929, she was the daughter of Lester and Rachel (Hiltz) Averill. She attended schools in Dixfield.
On June 29,1948, she married Ronald Emery in West Peru. They made their home in Peru.
Lucile F. Frechette
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amREGION -- Lucile F. Frechette, 92, a resident of Farmington and former resident of Lavoie Street, Jay passed away on January 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Pinewood Terrace Assisted Living where she had been a resident since May, 2009.
She was born on July 9, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Christian Joseph Reinhart and Frances Marie (Winter) Reinhart. She attended schools in Mt. Pleasant and upon graduation, relocated to Washington, D.C where she served as secretary to Army General Kirk at the U.S. Pentagon.
Maurice F. Hart Sr.
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amSOUTH PARIS -- Maurice F. Hart Sr., 60, of Bethel passed away on January 22, 2011 at the Market Square Health Care Center.
He was born in Bethel on September 24, 1950, the son of Harley W. and Virginia Cole Hart. He graduated from Woodstock High School and had been employed at S.A.D. #44 as a bus driver and mechanic for most of his life.
He served in the U. S. Army for two years.
Carmelo Joseph Puiia, Jr.
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amRUMFORD -- Carmelo Joseph Puiia, Jr., 88, a resident of Rumford his entire life, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2011 at the Hospice House in Auburn.
Born in Rumford on October 21, 1922, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Rosaria (Laugelli) Puiia, Sr.
Carmelo worked his entire life serving others. He started working at his father’s shoe shop at the age of 5. At age 14, he learned the barbering trade in the back of Joe Penceiro’s bar.
Carolyn Butterfield Richard
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amRUMFORD -- Carolyn Butterfield Richard, 80, of Granite Street, Mexico, died on January 29, 2011 at the Rumford Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Rumford on November 17, 1930, the daughter of Ralph and Susan (Penley) Butterfield. She graduated from Mexico High School Class of 1948.
Carol worked as a waitress and cook for many years in the area and for over 40 years at Freddie’s Restaurant on Congress Street, Rumford.
Terrence A. Smith
Feb 04, 2011 12:01 amHARTFORD -- Terrence A. Smith passed away on January 24, 2011 at the Hospice House in Auburn. He was a resident of Camp Road in Hartford where he and his wife Regine have resided since 1995.
He was born May 4, 1939 in Rumford, the son of Sherwood “Skish” and Bernice “Bunny” Smith, and resided in Rumford until 1995.
He graduated from Stephens High School in 1957 from Maine Central Institute in 1958 and was a member of the Class of 1960 at the University of Maine at Orono.
