Funeral services held for Midell P. Garneau
Dec 02, 2011 12:00 amPERU -- Graveside services for Midell P. Garneau of Peru were conducted on September 15, 2011 at the Knox Cemetery on the Hammond Hill Road, with Pastor Shepard Swain officiating.
Words of remembrance were shared by several family members and friends.
A reception followed at the home of her daughter, Paula Martin in Rumford.
Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

She was born Aug. 16, 1953 in Rumford, a daughter of Robert Paul and Patricia Elaine (Warren) Benedix Sr.

Fr. Philip Tracy was the celebrant. Mark Belanger was the organist.
Music selections were Hosea, Because the Lord is my Shepherd, We Will Rise Again and How Great Thou Art.
Pallbearers were Albert M. Zale, Jr., Eric Zale, Arthur Duguay, Patrick Gorham, Michael Hebert and Mike Thomas.
Interment with military honors was in St. John Cemetery.
Justin Michael Crowley-Smilek
Dec 02, 2011 12:00 amFARMINGTON -- Justin Michael Crowley-Smilek, 28, of Farmington, died on Nov. 19, 2011 in Farmington.
He was born Sept. 10, 1983 in Austin, Texas, a son of Michael Smilek and Ruth Crowley. He received his education in SAD#9 and Brunswick Schools, earned his GED and attended Perimeter College in Atlanta, GA.
When he joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and became an Army Ranger, it was his dream to continue his education and become a police officer.

Nov 25, 2011 12:00 amRUMFORD -- Funeral services for Corless E. Kemeraitis, of Rumford were conducted on July 11, 2011 at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, with George Weber officiating.
Music selections included “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Words of remembrance were given by Bob Thurlow, Becky White, Martha Pinkham, and Larry Farrell.
Committal services were conducted by George Weber.
Interment was at St. John Cemetery, Rumford.
Donald L. Cushman
Nov 25, 2011 12:00 amAUBURN -- Donald L. Cushman, 83, of Dixfield, lost his battle to lung cancer on Nov. 17, 2011 at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born on Jan. 30, 1928, in Wilton, a son of Walter Lee and Adeline “Laura” (Bickford) Cushman. He attended local schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army in February of 1946.
Donald worked at the Rumford Paper Mill for almost 40 years as a supervisor in the Kraft Mill and later years in the Wood Room.

Elaine Michaud sang Wind Beneath My Wings and Amazing Grace. Other music selections were Ave Maria, and I am the Bread of Life, and Pie Jesu.
The old testament was proclaimed by Robert Coulombe. The new testament was proclaimed by John Belskis. Gift bearers were Jean Jeselskis and John Belskis. Personal reflections were shared by Judy Whittemore.
