  • Funeral services held for G. June Taylor

    ROXBURY -- Graveside services for G. June Taylor of Roxbury were conducted on May 14, 2011 at the Pineview Cemetery, with Pastor Carol Stevens officiating.

    A reception followed at June’s home in Roxbury.

    Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

  • Funeral services held for Kareen Ann Poulin Clohosey

    RUMFORD -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Kareen Ann Poulin Clohosey of Rumford, was celebrated on May 27, 2011 at St. Athanasius – St John Church, with Fr. Phil Tracy as celebrant.

    Alter Assistant was George Gionet. Organist was Mark Belanger.

    Music selections included: “Be Not Afraid,” “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “Fly Like a Bird,” and “Let There Be Peace of Earth.”

    Readings were given by her daughter, Jennifer Sylvain and grandson, Justin Richards. Eulogy was given by her daughter, Karri Clohosey.

  • Funeral services held for Thirza H. Towle

    RUMFORD -- A Graveside Service for Thirza H. Towle was held on May 11, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery Dixfield.

    Rev. John Gensel officiated.

    Music selections were O Danny Boy and Beyond the Lilacs, which were sung by Sammie Angel. Prior to the service, the Dixfield American Legion Auxillary offered prayers.

    Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home, Rumford.

  • Roland T. “Frenchy” Litalien

    RUMFORD -– Roland T. “Frenchy” Litalien, 86, of Harlow Hill Road in Mexico, died on July 30, 2011 at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.

    He was born in Jay on August 17, 1924, a son of George and Mary (Vaillancourt) Litalien. Roland was educated in Jay schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

    He married Catherine McDonald on July 17, 1948 and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

  • Funeral services held for Frances K. McInnis

    RUMFORD -- Graveside services for Frances K. McInnis of Rumford were conducted on May 14, 2011 at St. John Cemetery, with Fr. Phil Tracy officiating.

    Military Honors were provided by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta.

    Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

  • Funeral services held for Vito F. Puiia

    RUMFORD -- A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Vito F. Puiia of Rumfordon May 20, 2011 at St. Athanasius–St. John Church, with Fr. Phil Tracy as celebrant.

    Altar Assistant was George Gionet. Organist was Mark Belanger.

    Music included “Hosea,” “Because the Lord is my Shepherd,” “Ave Maria,” and “Fly Like a Bird.”

    Readings were given by Linda Dodge and Jeff Gaudet. Eulogy was given by his grandson, Stephen Merrow.

    Committal services were conducted by Fr. Phil Tracy.

  • Funeral services held for Esther Drouin

    RUMFORD -- A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Esther Drouin was celebrated on May 25, 2011 at Parish of the Holy Savior.

    Fr. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist.

    Prayer of St. Francis was sung by Lillian Poirier. Other music selections were Be Not Afraid, Ave Maria, You Raise Me Up, and Fly Like a Bird.

    The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by Connie Venskus. The gifts were presented by Kim and Mike Papsadora. The eulogy was given by her daughter, Jeanne Duguay, and son, Gary Drouin.

  • Funeral services held for Roger Waldron Lane

    PERU – Private committal services for Roger Waldron Lane, with full military honors provided by Camp Keyes and Dixfield American Legion Chaplain, Oscar Hebert, were held on May 10, 2011 at the Demerritt Cemetery, Rte. 108, Peru.

    Memorial visitation followed until the time of the services from the Wiles Remembrance Center, Dixfield, officiated by celebrant Rhonda A. Wiles-Rosell. Following services, a

    family reception was held at the Dixfield American Legion Hall.

  • Funeral services held for Joan L. Wiggett

    DIXFIELD -- Graveside services for Joan L. Wiggett of Mexico were conducted on May 23, 2011 at the Greenwood Cemetery, with David Blouin officiating.

    Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford.

  • Mary Ellen Waleik

    RUMFORD -- Mary Ellen Waleik, 92, of Rumford, died on July 24, 2011 at the Rumford Community Home.

    She was born in Dixfield on March 25, 1919, the daughter of Oscar and Lucy (Libby) Holman. She graduated from Mexico High School Class of 1936, and then from Beautician’s School in Portland.

    Mary worked for many years as a beautician and helped run Waleik’s Market in Mexico with her husband for many years.

    She was married in Mexico on December 25, 1939 to Anthony C. “Tony” Waleik, who died in Rumford on August 18, 1996.
