Dirigo Wellness Center 5K Race/Walk

DIXFIELD -- The Dirigo Wellness Center will be hosting a 5K Race/Walk on Sunday, June 5 to raise funds that will be used to maintain and upgrade the center equipment and to purchase/replace needed items.

Health Coordinator Laurie Soucy noted, “With the school budget being cut, I don't want to ask for a lot so I am doing the fundraising to cover those expenses.”

Race registration is $20 in advance and $25 the day of, with children under 10 being free of charge. The top three finishers in each age group will receive an award. Registration tables will be open from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m. The first 50 registrants will receive a free event t-shirt.

This first-year event has brought in 10 participants to the C25K (Couch 2 5k) pre-race training program and is geared toward getting people active and aware of the DWC.
