Winterfest means fun for the whole family

RUMFORD -- Black Mountain of Mountain is celebrating 50 years with a weekend full of fun for the whole family.
On Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., lift tickets are $10. On Friday and Saturday from 6-9 p.m., lift tickets are $5.
On Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., lift tickets are $20.
Winterfest gets underway this Friday with the Becky Shaw Ski Day (see other story on this page), live entertainment, and food and drink specials.
Saturday's activities include sleigh rides, face painting, sliding on the novice trail, a prime rib dinner, terrain park events, a torch light parade, fireworks, moonlight snowshoeing and live entertainment.
Winterfest concludes Sunday with dog sled rides, a free alpine clinic (1-3 p.m.), a Chili & Chowder cook off, a jam session in the lounge, and a bonfire and s'mores.
On Saturday and Sunday, there will also be scenic lift rides as well as a barbeque at the summit.
