Oakdale Ladies League hold charity tourney
MEXICO -- The Oakdale Ladies League hosted a charity tournament on Sept. 17, with 60 participants and many volunteers.
The $2,500 raised will benefit the patients at the Lariviere Oncology Unit at Rumford. They had a balloon launch to start off the festivities that day with names of survivors and memorials attached.
Frieda Lariviere was present in the morning to greet everyone. She was happy to attend and thanked all for their work. The golfers played a scramble format with gross and net prizes.
The winners for overall low score was the team of Seth Fournier, Rory Amoroso, Greg Gallant and Nate Swan with a score of 54.
The small group of ladies in the league, and volunteers from the community did a tremendous job on the raffle baskets, food and everything else involved with this tournament. This was their second year of holding a charity tournament, with last year's proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
The ladies are planning a 2012 Tournament for August 19, with the charity will be determined. The pictures are of the group and the balloon launch.
The last picture is of the winning team.
