Baseball registrations upcoming

DIXFIELD -- Registration in the Western Mountain Cal Ripken Baseball League for both major and minor leagues (ages 6-12) in the Rumford, Mexico and Dixfield area will take place Friday, March 29 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at Dirigo High School.

Cut off date for ages requirement is April 30 (have to be age 6 as of April 30 or can't be 13 as of April 30). This is a league registration for all players from all towns, including current roster players.

A representative from each town will be in available to help register. If a player is unavailable for either date, please contact your town's rec department in advance of try-outs. Birth certificates or another legitimate form of ID with birth date is required for registration.

Major League tryouts will take place on April 6 at Dirigo High School. All 9-12 year olds as of April 30, who weren't on a major league roster last year, must try out. If unavailable for tryouts, any other player will be evaluated by Western Mountain Cal Ripken representatives to determine qualification for major or minor leagues.

Prior to tryouts, there will be a coach's clinic at 8 a.m. All coaches, major and minor, are recommended to attend.
